SPA AND YOGA CENTER IS ONLY SOURCE FOR ANCIENT REJUVENATING TECHNIQUES IN COLLIN COUNTY
Pranaa Ayurveda Spa and Yoga is the first spa to bring these ancient Indian therapies to Plano
(PLANO, Texas) November 16, 2007 People have searched for centuries for the Fountain of Youth. And while no one has actually found a way to stay forever young, preventative, natural care is one way to live better, longer that is where Pranaa comes in.
This spa and yoga center, located in Lakeside Market at 4017 Preston Road, Suite 532 in Plano, offers the finest Ayurvedic therapies to help integrate the body, mind and spirit. Ayurveda is a holistic system of healing that originated in India thousands of years ago. The word Ayurveda literally translates to mean the science of life. This natural method of healing first became widely popular in America on the East and West Coasts in the 1990s through the teachings and books of Deepak Chopra. Now, these ancient rejuvenating and stress-reducing therapies are available in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
'Our goal at Pranaa is to create a balance between mind, body, spirit and the environment surrounding us to achieve complete harmony,' said co-founder Sonali Pramanik. 'It is our endeavor to promote inner wellness which will lead to a beautiful world outside.'
Pranaa is an elegant sanctuary for rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit, comprising two spaces, one for yoga and one for Ayurveda. This retreat is designed on the five basic elements of Ayurveda: air, water, fire, earth and space. Pranaa offers extensive, individualized treatments integrating traditional Ayurveda and yoga with Western therapies to meet individual health goals. Some of the offerings include the Abhyanga Warm Oil Massage, a traditional, rhythmical massage from ancient India; Shirodhara, a therapy where a soothing stream of warm, aromatic oil is gently poured back and forth across the forehead; Marma Point Massage, a revitalizing massage focused on the energy points in the body; and Swedana Steam Therapy, a hot, herbalized steam bath that dilates the channels of circulation in the body, allowing the impurities to move out. Yoga classes for all levels are also offered at a variety of times throughout the week to accommodate any schedule. All products used are specifically formulated based on Ayurvedic principles. All therapists are trained in the traditional Ayurveda therapies and the consultants are degreed from renowned Ayurvedic colleges.
